The new product features advanced video compression, which allows it to deliver video streams over IP networks with limited bandwidth

Sysmaster has introduced the Tornado M50, a feature-rich set-top box specifically designed for deployment in IPTV and video-on-demand (VOD) infrastructures.

The product features H.264 and MPEG-4 video compression, which allows it to deliver video streams over IP networks with low bandwidth use. It supports HD video up to 1080p resolution and features a myriad of popular information and communication services, including chat, e-mail, calendar, news, calculator and weather information.

The device receives H.264, MPEG-4, MPEG-2 or WMV encoded video streams over broadband connections. It then decodes the streams internally and sends the resulting video signal to the TV set of the end user. It also supports delivery of streaming audio content, enabling end users to hear digital music and Internet MP3 radio channels on their televisions.

The box supports HD video at resolutions up to 1080p (H.264) and 720p (MPEG-4).

The box supports HD video at resolutions up to 1080p (H.264) and 720p (MPEG-4). HD video can be delivered to the TV screen via either HDMI or composite cable. It also supports the Dolby 5.1 audio standard.
