Streambox, an exhibitor at the NAB Show’s IPTV Pavilion, will highlight a new rugged portable video transport and mobile encoder software at the show.

The new Portable Video Transport system is for mobile newsgathering, emergency response and armed forces operations. It is ideal for use in environments where extreme temperatures are the norm and exposure to adverse weather and rough handling is expected. It meets or exceeds MIL-STD-810F standards.

The transport uses the Streambox ACT-L3 codec and advanced compression technologies widely used by news organizations worldwide. The system is integrated into one 6lb portable device supplied with a sturdy carry handle for easy transportation and featuring an extended battery life.

The Mobile Software Encoder features Streambox’s ACT-L3 advanced proprietary compression algorithms.

The Mobile Software Encoder also features Streambox ACT-L3 advanced proprietary compression algorithms. It extends the newsgathering capabilities of broadcasters, first responders and citizen reporters by transporting broadcast video over WiFi and 3G networks for real-time and store-and-forward news coverage.
