FastVDO is announcing a new version of its USB-based SmartCapture capture board at the NAB Show this week.

The company’s SmartCapture USB product captures analog video and analog stereo audio and digitizes and compresses it using H.264/AAC encoding.

FastVDO introduced the original SmartCapture at the 2007 NAB Show. Three months ago, it introduced the second generation of the product, the SmartCapture Lite, a lower cost product with single-button settings for iPod and YouTube authoring.

SmartCapture Pro, announced at this week’s show, is designed for real-time streaming and what the company calls “enhanced encoding.” In addition to H.264, AAC and MP4 encoding, it includes MPEG-2 TS output for broadcast, DVB-H and other applications.
