At the NAB Show (booth SU4928), DVEO will show NCoder HD, a new low-cost appliance that allows users to deliver their compressed HD content over fiber on copper IP networks. It can be used to send and receive both single- and multiprogram MPEG-2 transport streams.
The NCoder HD is designed for applications where low-latency, HD content is required, such as HD sports origination, HD movie previews, ENG helicopters and HD video conferencing.
It offers real-time, full 1080i or p, 720P support with 14Mb/s-80Mb/s capability based around an embedded Linux OS-based MPEG-2 HD encoder. It’s configured as a 1RU stand-alone appliance with HD-SDI in and DVB ASI or IP out, or simultaneous DVB-ASI and IP output capability. There’s also full control via front-panel LCD and push buttons or via browser.
The NCoder HD is also compatible with the Amino IP set-top box, which enables users to distribute HD content over an IP infrastructure to a multitude of inexpensive consumer priced decoders linked to inexpensive HD televisions or monitors.
